Tizz User Guide
Welcome to Tizz! This guide will help you get started with calendar synchronization and time tracking.
Part 1: Getting Started
Creating Your Account
- Visit the Tizz registration page
- Choose your account type:
- Organization - For teams and businesses (requires organization name and URL slug)
- Individual - For freelancers and solo users
- Fill in your details:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Password (minimum 12 characters recommended)
- Timezone
- Accept the Terms of Service and agree to email contact
- Click Register to create your account
Logging In
- Go to the Tizz login page
- Enter your email and password
- Click Login
- If you've forgotten your password, click Forgot Password to receive a reset link
First-Time Setup Checklist
After logging in for the first time, complete these steps:

Part 2: Connecting Your Calendar
Microsoft Outlook (Microsoft 365)
- Navigate to Tools → Sync Calendar to Timesheet
- Click Connect to Microsoft
- Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work account
- Grant the requested permissions:
- Read your calendars
- Maintain access to data
- Sign in and read your profile
- You'll be redirected back to Tizz
Note: Your organization administrator must have granted admin consent first. If you see an error about needing admin approval, contact your IT department.
Google Calendar (Google Workspace)
- Navigate to Tools → Sync Calendar to Timesheet
- Click Connect to Google
- Sign in with your Google Workspace account
- Grant the requested permissions
- You'll be redirected back to Tizz
Note: Your organization administrator must have configured domain-wide delegation first.
Part 3: Calendar Views
Standard Calendar Mode
The Standard Calendar Mode provides a weekly view of your connected calendar events with rule-based time categorization.
Accessing the Calendar
- Navigate to Admin → Sync
- Click on Calendar in the menu
Understanding the Interface
Left Sidebar:
- Calendar Selection - Check/uncheck calendars to show or hide events
- Mini Calendar - Click any date to view that week
- Week List - Shows all weeks of the year (Week 1-52/53)
Main Calendar View:
- Toolbar - Month/year display, date range, Today button, week navigation
- Time Grid - Shows hours from 12 AM to 11 PM with 15-minute precision
- All-Day Events - Located at the top of the calendar grid
Navigation Methods

Advanced Calendar Mode
Advanced Calendar Mode adds AI-powered event association to help you automatically categorize calendar events.
Accessing Advanced Calendar Mode
- Navigate to Admin → Sync → Outlook to Tizz
- Click Advanced View of Calendar button in the header
Note: Requires Access Level 3 or higher and a Premium subscription.
Understanding Event Colors
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Purple Gradient | AI-associated events |
| Blue | Rule-based events |
| Gray (faded) | Unassociated events needing attention |
Working with AI Associations
To accept an AI suggestion:
- Click on any event
- Review the AI suggestion (shown with purple badge and confidence percentage)
- Click Save to accept
To modify a suggestion:
- Click on the event
- Change the Project or Task dropdown
- Adjust Billable setting if needed
- Click Save
To delete an AI association:
- Click on the event
- Scroll to the bottom of the event details panel
- Click Delete Association
- Confirm the deletion
Filtering Your View
Use the toggle switches at the top:
- Include AI - Show/hide AI-associated events
- Include Rules - Show/hide rule-matched events
Part 4: Creating Sync Rules
Sync rules automatically categorize your calendar events into projects and tasks.
Creating Your First Rule
- Navigate to Tools → Sync Rules
- Click Add Rule
- Configure the rule:
Project & Task:
- Select the Zoho project for time logging
- Select a task within that project
- Or choose (Do Not Log Hours) to skip certain events
Conditions:
- Leave empty for a default/catch-all rule
- Add conditions to match specific events
Available Condition Types

Example Rules
Client Work:
- Project: "Client ABC"
- Task: "Consulting"
- Condition: Attendee contains "client@abc.com"
Do Not Log Personal Time:
- Project: (Do Not Log Hours)
- Condition: Title contains "lunch" OR Title contains "Personal"
Team Meetings:
- Project: "Internal Operations"
- Task: "Team Sync"
- Condition: Attendee contains "@yourcompany.com"
Premium Features
Billable Flag:
- Check "Billable" to mark time entries for client invoicing
Time Rounding:
- None (exact time)
- Round to nearest 15/30 minutes or hour
- Round up to 15/30 minutes or hour
Part 5: Running a Calendar Sync
Basic Sync Process
- Navigate to Tools → Sync Calendar to Timesheet
- Select your calendar source (Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar)
- Configure sync settings:
- Date Range - Days to sync
- Calendars - Which calendars to include
- Include Future Events - Sync upcoming appointments
- Force Sync - Re-sync previously synced events
- Click Validate to preview (no changes made)
- Review the results table
- Click Sync to log the time
Understanding Results

Common Issues
| Problem | Solution |

| "No rules configured" | Create at least one sync rule first |

| "Calendar not connected" | Click "Connect to Microsoft/Google" |
| "Events already synced" | Check "Force Sync" to re-sync |
Part 6: Simulation Panel
The Simulation Panel previews how your calendar events will be logged before you submit.
Opening the Panel
- Navigate to the Calendar section
- Select a week from the mini calendar
- Click Show Simulation button (📊 icon)
Understanding the Display
Columns:
- Project / Task
- Daily breakdown (one column per day)
- Weekly total
Color Coding:
- Green highlighted rows = Billable time entries (Premium)
- Standard rows = Non-billable entries
Using the Simulation
- Select a week from the mini calendar
- Open the Simulation Panel
- Review the breakdown
- Verify projects, tasks, and totals
- Make adjustments if needed before submitting
Part 7: Managing Your Subscription
Viewing Your Plan
- Go to Account Settings
- Click Subscription & Billing
- View your plan type, package level, billing cycle, and next billing date
Upgrading or Downgrading
- Go to Subscription & Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select your desired package
- Review pricing changes
- Click Confirm
Note: Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.
Updating Payment
- Navigate to Subscription & Billing
- Click Payment Methods
- Select Add New Card or Update Card
- Enter payment information and save
Canceling
- Go to Subscription & Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
- Access continues until the end of your billing period
Part 8: Tips & Best Practices
Efficient Calendar Navigation
- Use the Today button frequently to return to current week
- Use the mini calendar for quick jumps to specific dates
- Your calendar selections are saved automatically
Rule Management
- Start with 3-5 basic rules covering your most common events
- Test rules with a sample event before relying on them
- Review and update rules quarterly
Time Tracking Success
- Sync your calendar at the end of each day or week
- Use descriptive event titles for better AI matching
- Always validate before syncing to catch errors
Advanced Calendar Mode Tips
- Review AI suggestions regularly—corrections improve accuracy over time
- Use custom log names for recurring activities that aren't specific tasks
- Set up rules for patterns, let AI handle one-off events
Part 9: Troubleshooting
Calendar Issues
